OHP Trooper Gives Shawnee Girl Beary Special Birthday Surprise

Big community events tend to be measured in numbers. How many agencies showed up, how many families came through, how many photos got taken. But sometimes the good that sticks happens in the in-between.
On August 22, Cops N Kids brought more than 30 law enforcement agencies together at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center in Shawnee to meet the Pottawatomie County kids and families they serve. It's an event built around giving officers a chance to be seen as people first, badges second.
For one little girl at the event, that idea played out in a way she'll likely remember for years.
She showed up wearing a shirt that read "All About the Wee Woos," and it didn't take long for Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Hunt to notice. He crouched down to her level, told her how much he loved the shirt, and when her mom mentioned that her daughter's 3rd birthday had just passed, he had an idea.
"Hang tight," he told her, before disappearing and returning with a teddy bear dressed in its own tiny OHP shirt, just for her.
Now that's the good stuff right there.
