Tecumseh FFA Students Give Ag Building a Fresh Look

If you've driven by the Tecumseh High School ag building lately, you may have noticed a landscaping upgrade. And it's all thanks to the hard work of Tecumseh FFA students.
Over the course of several weeks in May, students from across the agriculture program rolled up their sleeves and gave the entrance a complete makeover. Students dug up old grass, leveled the ground, built new beds and benches from scratch, and hand-picked the foliage that now welcomes visitors to the building.
What makes the project even more special is just how many hands were involved. Nearly every class had a part in it, from freshmen just getting started in Ag 2 all the way up to seniors putting the finishing touches on the project before graduation. It was a true team effort spanning four years of Tecumseh ag students, all working together to leave the program better than they found it.

The project also got a boost from the local business community. Hometown Rock and Landscape, LLC donated three yards of soil to help level the beds, saving the graduating seniors a significant amount of digging and speeding the project along.
The result is a refreshed, welcoming entrance that the whole Tecumseh community can be proud of, and a great example of the kind of hands-on learning happening in Pottawatomie County classrooms. Beyond the improved landscaping, students walked away with real experience in planning, building, and finishing a project from start to end.

Projects like this are a reminder of the talent and work ethic found in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, and a small but meaningful upgrade to a building that's seen generations of Tecumseh students pass through its doors.
Great job to every student who had a hand in the project. The new look is here to stay, just in time for a new school year.
